The Last Few Years to Present

I can't believe I am just now starting a blog for our family. I should have done this years ago, but, as always, life gets in the way. Hugh Ellis and I got married in 2004 after we both finished college, and it's really been a fun and crazy time. We spent the first year in Princeton, New Jersey, outside of NYC, where Hugh Ellis was stationed at McQuire AFB for casual, and I was working as a Media Planner at McCann-Erickson Worldwide Advertising in NYC on the L'Oreal Paris account.

After New Jersey, we both moved back to Mississippi, where Hugh Ellis started pilot training in Columbus and I went back to work with The Cirlot Agency in Jackson as an Account Executive/Media Director. It was a really fun being able to have such great jobs and being able to spend a lot of time with friends and family even though we only saw each other weekends. Seems like our relationship has always involved a lot of long distance. None the less, it was really great to spend some time in Mississippi, out on the rez, eating at all of our favorite restaurants and cooking out with family and friends.

Hugh Ellis was awarded F-16s out of Columbus and went on to San Antonio for 10 months for training and on to Kunsan AFB in South Korea for 1 year. Unfortunately, I couldn't go with, so I stayed in Jackson and continued working with The Cirlot Agency.

In October 2008 we moved to Spangdahlem AFB, Germany, where we were finally together again. It's been really great so far. We have a German home in a little town called Wittlich about 20 miles from the base and close to the Mosel River, the big wine region of the area. We are really loving it! We have met so many new friends and have really enjoyed traveling around Europe. So far, we've been to Paris, Luxembourg, Bastogne, Brussels, Garmisch, Munich, and all around Western Germany. We have a lot of trips planned in the comming months including a trip back to Paris and Garmisch, Rome, Venice, and a chartered sailboat cruise around Greece.

Hugh Ellis is still traveling a lot with the Air Force, but we are lucky to have a chance to live in Europe and definitely enjoy every minute we have together. I'm still working with Rick and Liza and The Cirlot Agency from overseas. I'm truly blessed to be able to do that. We have also gotten plugged in to an awesome Bible Study at Roger and Sheila Nielsen's house where we have met a lot of great people. Roger is a retired Air Force pilot. He and his wife, Sheila, have devoted their life to spreading God's word and serving those on the Air Force Base here. Some of the most genuine, nicest people in the world. Everyone that attends works on base and is from around the world, so it has truly been a wonderful experience. We miss Pinelake, family, friends, and Mississippi, but we are looking forward to God doing some awesome work in us here.
